2016 was a rough year for what Abraham Lincoln called “the proposition that all men are created equal.” Nike wanted to say something, and we landed on the thought of how messed up and hypocritical it is that the same bodies that are idolized on the field are symbols of fear and criminality off of it.

Isn’t it a bit ironic that, after a megalithic nationwide OOH takeover and giant TV spot directed by Melina with Alicia Keys covering Sam Cooke, the most impactful part of the campaign ended up being a T-shirt. It’s a constant reminder for me that a huge part of communications is the art of making people feel seen and valued.
